Despite remaining underpaid for more than a year and a half, Mr. Salifu Ibrahim, also known as Mba Baba Fiter, has been rewarded handsomely for his honesty after returning GHC20,000 that he came across.

In addition to receiving tremendous praise, his altruistic deed has garnered him almost GHC28,400 in cash and a motorbike. Mr Salifu received GHC 10,000 and a motorbike from Zoomlion Ghana Limited when he was in Accra meeting with high authorities.

The officials also gave GHC7,000 of their own money, with two giving him $20 apiece and one giving him GHC 10,000. In an interview with Dm Tv’s Naa Damba, Mr. Salifu thanked everyone for the tremendous support.

He revealed that the officials had given him a warm welcome even when he first arrived and had given GHC20 for water. He previously got GHC 300 from an unidentified donor via Naa Damba, and GHC 5,000 from Hajia TiTi of Kumasi.

Together with the company’s incentives, these add up to GHC28,400 and a motorbike for him.
Remaining modest, Mr Salifu says the Zoomlion CEO, who is already on the road, has committed to a special meeting when he returns. There is yet more to come.
